Drug Quiz Show Director: Your votes are needed

The Drug Quiz Show is an interactive drug prevention program for middle school students with a 26-year history of providing essential information and life skills to Central New York youth. Having lost its corporate sponsorship unexpectedly earlier this year, the Drug Quiz Show now relies solely on charitable contributions and grants to sustain the program. Luckily, strides have made in raising the necessary dollars, having recently received grants from the Jim & Juli Boeheim, John Ben Snow and GE Volunteers foundations.

But we need to do more. One exciting opportunity is the Pepsi "Refresh Everything" initiative. Drug Quiz was chosen to be considered for a $25,000 grant, and will be highlighted on the Pepsi website for the entire month of December, eligible for public voting. It would be of great help if your readers and staff would take a moment each day to vote, by visiting refresheverything.com.

An all-out, community-wide effort is needed. Receiving this grant would put the Drug Quiz Show in a position of being able to continue the program seamlessly in 2012 while the search for long-term corporate sponsorship is continued. Additional information and detailed voting instructions can be found on our website at drugquizshow.org. Thank you for your ongoing support.
